day nine

thursday

i'm exhausted. the boys, still operating in british time, deemed it necessary to start talking very loudly at some ridiculous hour this morning, as mark was getting up for work. flakes had fallen again, the milder temperatures providing heavy packing snow. we got wrapped up and threw frozen water at each other. matt took a turn at the shovelling. the boys went downtown, jacob acting as tour guide. bethany and i bought wedding stuff, then i offered my time to jesse, who put me to work on the sanding of doorframes. a few beers and an excellent sandwich later, we went to pick mark up from work. bethany kicked my ass.

with mark rescued from the pit of certain doom, we got out the walmart vinyl discs and hit the slopes. james lost feeling in his tailbone after sliding into a stream. hardy senior showed us how it was done.

we regrouped, and found ourselves in casey's, where an overenthusiastic waitress put up with 5 british boys and jacob for longer than she thought necessary.

matt and james fought to be king.

the culture of church has continued to bug me in the last few days. there's something unnatural about the way people are integrated into the machine that is cutting into me. maybe i'm too wrapped up in my own things to see the good side of it, but i can see a lot of stuff i would change. too tired to explain more. if you care enough you should ask me. i'll try and take a picture of it.

i want an ice cream shop.
